Houghton Cabernet Sauvignon red wine
The Stripe Range Cabernet is rich and dark in colour. A bouquet of red berries, cherries and plummy fruits rises from the glass, along with a hint of red pepper. Ripe cassis and dark plum flavours are balanced with subtle hints of cigar box, soft and fine-grained tannins, and a slight touch of oak. Given its acidity, tannins and alcohol content (12-14%), this is a hearty wine capable of standing up to dishes rich in fat and protein. Some foods pairing well with this marvelous Cabernet Sauvignon are charred gruyere burger, mushroom pizza with tomato sauce, marinated rib-eye steaks, braised short ribs, or mushroom stroganoff.
