An alternate white varietal always ticks a box for our judges, espcially when made very well like the Sitella Avant Garde Albarino 2026. This grape born out of Spain has found a good home in the Swan Valley. One of the most refreshing wines in our judges, this Albariño impressed with its vibrant fruit, savoury character and lively acidity. Lemon, lime, grapefruit and fresh pear flow through a composed palate, complemented by subtle herbal notes and a crisp, tangy finish. As Western Australia’s first DNA-tested Albariño, it is also an exciting addition to the Swan Valley. Pair with fresh oysters, grilled prawns, fish and chips or a crisp summer salad.
