Hamelin Bay Reserve Chardonnay
Ripe stone fruit, Bosc pear and lemon zest in abundance. White florals and oak spice follow and continue to lift from the glass. A warm char edges out from the new oak and 8 months of barrel maturation. Finally a complimentary biscuity, nougat element built up from regular lees stirring adds to the size and complexity of the nose.
Generous weight and concentration come from the reserve selected fruit used in this wine. Yellow peach, nectarines and pink lady apple provide density and fruit sweetness, whilst a lively lemon lime citrus acidity carries and travels across the palate. Secondary notes of quince, toasted almond and brioche add complexity and broadness, whilst a crisp minerality and elements of estuarine purity keep this wine delicate and refined.
